UC Clermont paralegal program offers free legal clinics

UC Clermont College’s paralegal program will offer a series of free virtual legal clinics to local residents this fall. The first clinic, focused on advanced directives such as health care powers of attorney and living wills, will take place Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6-8 p.m.

UC Clermont students, alumni rally for Afghan refugees

On a chilly, gray Saturday morning in November, more than a dozen lawyers, paralegals and students quietly gathered in a small computer lab in the University of Cincinnati’s Teachers College. Some were experts in immigration law; others, students and alumni of UC Clermont’s paralegal program. All answered a call for volunteers to assist people they would likely never meet, in need half a world away — and showed up, ready to work.

Putting patient health into their own hands

UC researchers are leading a pilot study examining how art therapy delivered through an app and pet robots can affect the mood of patients with hearing loss. The collaborative study seeks to allow patients to take their health into their own hands and increase accessibility of interventions.
