CCM Acting stars featured in Cincinnati premiere of "They/Them/Us"

Local audiences can attend the Cincinnati premiere of a new film to watch the work of UC College-Conservatory of Music Acting alum Jack Steiner (BFA '20) and Professor Robert Pavlovich. "They/Them/Us," a film based in Columbus, premieres on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at the Esquire Theatre in Cincinnati. Audiences can catch showings at noon and at 2 p.m.

CCM alumna featured in PBS broadcast

November 2, 2022

To celebrate its return to the newly renovated David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, the New York Philarmonic recorded a program of masterworks and world premieres to be broadcast on PBS. Led by Philharmonic Music Director Jaap van Zweden, the concert features CCM alumna Joélle Harvey (BM Voice '07, MM Voice '09) as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.” The recorded program will premiere at 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, as part of PBS’s Great Performances series.

Arts Admin alumna Kathy Wade wins Governor’s Award for the Arts in Ohio

The Ohio Arts Council selected UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Kathy Wade (MM Arts Administration, '81) to receive a Governor’s Award for the Arts in Ohio. In recognition of their impactful and visionary leadership in Ohio’s creative sector and their sustained dedication to promoting artistic excellence, awardees will be honored during a ceremony on May 17, 2023. Each of the winners will receive an original work of art by painter Brian Robinson of Dover.

CCM alum Joélle Harvey featured in upcoming CSO performances

February 1, 2024

CCM alumna Joélle Harvey (BM Voice ‘07, MM Voice ‘09) will join the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the May Festival Chorus for three performances of Johannes Brahms' large-scale Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) at Cincinnati Music Hall later this month. Presented as part of Louis Langrée's final season as music director of the CSO, this large-scale work was written for orchestra and chorus with soprano and baritone soloists, and the CSO's Feb. 9-11 performances will feature Harvey as the soprano soloist, along with baritone soloist Will Liverman in his debut with the CSO.

CCM Doctoral student chosen to judge international violin competition

Junqi (Sophie) Tang, current DMA Violin student at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music was recently invited to serve on a distinguished panel of judges for the 2021 Hong Kong International Violin Competition and Chamber Music Competition. Sponsored by the Asia Musicians Association, the competition attracts performers from all over the world including Germany, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Russia and more.
