Hoxworth's pitching for platelets promotion returns

Donate platelets at Hoxworth April 1 through May 30 for chance to throw out Reds first pitch

Who’s on deck to save a life? When Tri-State residents roll up a sleeve to donate platelets from April 1 through May 30, 2023, they will save lives and be eligible to win Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati’s, Pitching for Platelets contest.

As part of the Pitching for Platelets contest, Hoxworth will award one lifesaving donor with the exciting opportunity to throw out the first pitch at the June 8, 2023, Cincinnati Reds game vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers at Great American Ballpark (7:10 p.m. game).

To enroll in the contest, donors will need to visit the Hoxworth website and fill out the form to begin the donation tracking process. The next step will be to schedule an appointment and donate platelets.

The more times a donor schedules and gives a platelet donation, the more chances they have to win since platelets can be donated every two weeks. Donors can earn additional chances by referring a new donor friend to donate. For each new donor referral, Hoxworth will gift the donor and new friend with a $5 e-gift card.

Wait, there’s more! The winning lifesaving donor will be notified on Friday, June 2, and also be awarded with four tickets to the Reds game and a personalized Reds jersey.
