New York Times spotlights East Coast premiere of 'Blind Injustice'

The New York Times recently featured the East Coast premiere of "Blind Injustice," an opera based on true exonerations achieved by the Ohio Innocence Project. The production opened on Feb. 16 , 2024, at Peak Performances at Montclair State University. Premiered in 2019 at Cincinnati Opera, the opera was first workshopped through Opera Fusion: New Works (OF:NW), a collaboration between Cincinnati Opera and UC College-Conservatory of Music.

Nashville Symphony Orchestra Principal Oboist Titus Underwood joins CCM’s faculty

Romanstein has announced the addition of accomplished oboist Titus Underwood to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. Principal Oboe of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Underwood is an Emmy Award-winner and a 2021 recipient of the Sphinx Medal of Excellence Award. His new appointment as Associate Professor of Oboe at CCM begins on Aug. 15, 2021.

Winner of this year’s George Rieveschl Jr. Award for Creative and/or Scholarly Works, Catherine Losada has been on the UC College-Conservatory of Music faculty as a Professor of Music Theory since 2004. One of the most notable aspects of Losada’s research, which often examines 20th-century music, is its ability to cross national, cultural and disciplinary divides.

Musical America: CCM faculty artist featured in upcoming virtual concert

UC College-Conservatory of Music Professor of Flute Demarre McGill will join his brother, clarinetist Anthony McGill, and pianist Michael McHale for a performance featuring works for duos and trios at 5:30 pm on Dec. 6. The concert is hosted by the Shriver Hall Concert Series in Baltimore but will be broadcast on the venue’s website from Dec. 6 through Dec. 9.
