Celebrated author Paul Theroux, whose credits include "The Mosquito Coast" and 23 other novels, will visit UC on Tuesday, April 13, for a lecture titled "The Disconnected Traveler in Post-Imperial Africa." The talk is part of the Ropes Lecture Series and is free and open to the public.

We are pleased to welcome C.D. Wright to campus this quarter as this year's Elliston Poet-in-Residence. Ms. Wright will be in residence the entire month of May, during which time she will teach a poetry workshop and give three public presentations of her work.

The American Cancer Society s Relay For Life at UC takes place April 30-May 1 on McMicken Commons. UC sophomore and Relay volunteer Jessica Pauley will be cheering for her father as he walks in the survivors victory lap in the opening ceremony.
