Senior reporter at Cincinnati Business Courier credits A&S for success

Photo/Credit goes here. “I think the biggest thing that I learned at the University of Cincinnati was, it’s really important to go do,” says Tom Demeropolis, a 2007 graduate of UC’s journalism program and a senior reporter with the Cincinnati Business Courier. “You’ve got to be able to show potential employers that you can do the work,” he says. The journalism program encourages students like Demeropolis to apply classroom learning to hands-on experience like writing for The News Record (TNR), UC’s student-run media organization. This kind of training helps prepare students for internships, professional networking and later, career success.

CSO and CCM announce 2021-23 class of Diversity Fellows

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) have selected five outstanding musicians for their next class of CSO/CCM Diversity Fellows. Born out of a mutual desire to help American orchestras become more inclusive and better represent the communities they serve, the performance fellowship program was launched in 2015 and continues with a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Biomedical engineering student driven to help others

University of Cincinnati biomedical engineering student Linda Yoder was named Engineer of the Month by the College of Engineering and Applied Science at UC. Yoder has co-op internship experience at medical device companies Cook Medical and Vein360. She's maximized her time at UC in student groups including Engineers Without Borders, Mortar Board, Out in STEM and Makers Club.

CCM alum and student join OPERA America's Inaugural Mentorship Program for Opera Leaders of Color

UC College-Conservatory of Music alum Carlos García León (MA/MBA, '16) and current MM Voice student Jaime Sharp were selected as inaugural participants in the Mentorship Program for Opera Leaders of Color. This new initiative exists to advance racial equity in the field by pairing BIPOC professionals with executive-level leaders who can support them in achieving their career goals.
