Segments of CCM's Musical Theatre Freshman Showcase were recorded at iconic locations throughout the city in collaboration with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, Imperial Theatre Mohawk Arts Center, Memorial Hall, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Washington Park. CCM Wind Symphony welcomes Lakota East guest ensemble in season finale on April 21

The CCM Wind Symphony closes their 2023-24 season with “Urban Requiem,” a concert that contemplates the complex emotions of endings while celebrating the life-affirming sounds of a big band. Joined by the members of the Hinotori Saxophone Quartet and the Lakota East High School Winds, the Wind Symphony’s final concert features Michael Colgrass’s “Urban Requiem,” for four saxes and wind orchestra and Steven Bryant’s blockbuster “Concerto for Wind Ensemble.” Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

CCM's Music Theory and Musicology Society hosts student conference March 4-5, 2022

CCM’s Music Theory and Musicology Society hosts its ninth biennial student conference designed to engage both UC students and students from other institutions in the broad field of music scholarship. The hybrid-format conference features keynote speakers Julianne Grasso (University of Texas at Austin) and Imani Mosley (University of Florida) and student paper presentations. This year’s conference also includes two workshops led by CCM ethnomusicologists Stefan Fiol and Scott Linford.

CSO and CCM announce 2021-23 class of Diversity Fellows

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) have selected five outstanding musicians for their next class of CSO/CCM Diversity Fellows. Born out of a mutual desire to help American orchestras become more inclusive and better represent the communities they serve, the performance fellowship program was launched in 2015 and continues with a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
