UC student leads effort to clean up campus adjacent Coy Field

Karthikeyan Sakthivel, a senior medical sciences undergraduate at the University of Cincinnati, has adopted Coy Field in an attempt to keep the green space clean and ready for use by UC students, area high schoolers and the community. Sakthivel is planning another cleanup event for Coy Field, which is adjacent to the university campus.

Doctoral student Angela White is among the 2,348 students who will be receiving 2,457 degrees from the University of Cincinnati during the virtual 2020 fall commencement ceremonies set for Dec. 11 and 12. Some UC programs allow students to earn dual degrees. The College of Medicine is granting degrees to 37 students — 12 doctoral, 24 master’s and one bachelor’s.

Pride at Lindner begins fundraising drive for first-of-its-kind endowment at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business

It started with a mid-summer check-in between student leaders and faculty advisors. Pride at Lindner’s (PaL) student executive board and its faculty/advisor leadership met to discuss strategic planning and goals for the upcoming school year and beyond. According to PaL advisor Nadia Ibrahim-Taney, those present overwhelmingly expressed the need for student financial aid, specifically an endowed scholarship. Such was the genesis of the Pride at Lindner Scholarship and Programming Fund, an endowed scholarship that would allow the current PaL team to leave a legacy for current and future LGBTQ+ students.
