Students in UC’s Intelligent Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory are building an autonomous robot that not only can open its own doors but also can find the nearest electric wall outlet to recharge without human assistance. Their virtual robot was successful in simulations.

Sky’s not the limit in student innovation challenge

Cincinnati Innovation District, University of Cincinnati's 1819 Innovation Hub host the second FlyOhio Vertiport Innovation Challenge, inviting students from institutions across the state of Ohio. Thirteen teams from six colleges presented concepts for Advanced Air Mobility vertiports focusing on how medical or cargo transport would benefit the community, sustain itself and create more than 15,000 new jobs and convert existing jobs.

UC part of CDC grant to study the next generation of personal protective equipment

UC is part of a multi-institutional grant of nearly $2 million from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to improve the design, function and safety of personal protective equipment. UC researchers will work with teams from Iowa State University and the University of California-Davis on this four-year grant. One of the goals is to develop self-decontaminating PPE featuring high-protection efficiency
