WGUC: Stream CSO's 'spellbinding' concert with CCM student singers

Hear the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, recently broadcast by Cincinnati Public Radio 90.9 WGUC and available to stream online. The concert features 10 student soloists from UC’s College-Conservatory of Music and the CCM Chamber Choir, led by Professor Earl Rivers.

The Musical Theatre Department at UC's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) proudly presents its first Virtual Senior Showcase. Although the COVID-19 pandemic prevented CCM Musical Theatre from holding its customary Senior Showcases for agents and casting directors in New York this spring, the program's new Virtual Senior Showcase allows industry insiders and the general public to see this year's seniors in action.

CCM Professor Awadagin Pratt spotlighted for commitment to inclusion in the arts

Uc College-Conservatory of Music Professor of Piano and Artist-in-Residence Awadagin Pratt spoke to the Cincinnati Business Courier about his aspirations to diversify the arts industry by encouraging the next generation Black American pianists. Pratt was one of three recipients of the 2021 Sphinx Venture Fund, generating an award of $100,000 to kick-start the biannual Nina Simone Piano Competition beginning summer 2023.

CCM percussionist joins the cast of STOMP

Recent UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Declan Hayden (BM Percussion Performance, ‘20; BM Music Education, ‘20) won a position this summer with the touring production of percussion and theatre troupe STOMP. The ensemble has twelve members, with eight of those members performing on any given night. Hayden’s character is called “Potato Head,” whom STOMP describes as “the rock steady rhythmic center of the show.”

CCM alumna featured in Strings Magazine digital performance series

Strings Magazine shone the spotlight on UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Anita Graef (MM Cello Performance, ‘19), featuring the rising star in a digital performance of Sibelius’ Theme and Variations for Solo Cello and Gliere’s 8 Pieces for Violin and Cello. The concert is still available for viewing on the publication’s website.

CCM Oboe Prof. Titus Underwood explores his ultimate playlist with BBC

First year UC College-Conservatory Oboe Professor Titus Underwood was recently featured on BBC’s Inside Sounds, sharing 16 tracks that are near and dear to his heart and carry musical influence over his performance. Underwood is the principal oboe of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, a member of the UK-based Chineke! Orchestra, and a 2021 Sphinx Medal of Excellence recipient.
