UC honors Armstrong protege with engineering alumni award

As a high school student in New Jersey, Ralph Spitzen joined a worldwide team of amateur astronomers to pinpoint the exact location of the moon. This work helped Neil Armstrong take humanity’s first step on the lunar surface. Spitzen later learned directly from Armstrong as an aerospace engineering student at the University of Cincinnati.

UC community paramedicine course combats region's opioid epidemic

The community is invited to attend an open panel discussion and keynote address on March 12 to learn how Ohio communities can unify to address the region's heroin epidemic. The event kicks off the UC Department of Fire Science s week-long community paramedicine course.

Digital Fabrication Lab aids pandemic response

The University of Cincinnati's Digital Fabrication Lab fired up its 35 3D printers to help create products to help early in the pandemic. The projects were just a few of the 60,000 printed parts produced by the lab for UC engineering and medical students and faculty researchers and for external sources like the Cincinnati Museum Center.

UC engineering student wins 3D design contest

New 3D printers make it easier to design and create objects limited only by the user’s imaginations and digital skills. University of Cincinnati student Arshad Mohammed put both to the test, winning a national design contest sponsored by Cincinnati software and tech startup Physna.

UC launches Space Research Institute
