New UC IT degree program sets up undergraduate students for industry success

The University of Cincinnati’s School of Information Technology has announced a newly approved undergraduate degree program for future and existing students of the school. The Bachelor of Science in Software Application Development has been launched to build on the school’s Software Application Development track, previously offered through the B.S. in Information Technology (BSIT) program.

Cincinnatus Association honors community champions at 10th annual Spencer awards

The Cincinnatus Association presented the 10th Annual Donald and Marian Spencer “Spirit of America” Awards on May 20 to honor five Cincinnati-area nonprofits and businesses working to better the community. The association also recognized the achievements of UC's Marian Spencer Scholarship winners. The Cincinnati Herald covered the award dinner.

CCM welcomes new flute faculty member Sooyun Kim

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Pete Jutras has announced the appointment of Sooyun Kim as CCM's new Assistant Professor of Flute. Her faculty appointment officially begins on Aug. 15, 2025. Described by the French newspaper Libération as “a rare virtuoso of the flute,” Kim has earned distinction as one of the rare flute soloists on today’s classical music scene. She made her concerto debut at age 10 with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and has since appeared with renowned ensembles including the Bavarian Radio Symphony, Munich Philharmonic, Munich Chamber, Boston Pops and KBS Symphony Orchestras. Her recital engagements have taken her to prestigious venues such as Budapest’s Liszt Hall, the Kennedy Center, Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy, Kobe’s Bunka Hall and the Seoul Arts Center. Her European debut recital at the Louvre Museum was broadcast live on medici.tv.
