Construction management student finds niche in leadership roles

Construction management student Phillip Stoll made the most of his time at the University of Cincinnati by participating in construction competitions, leading organizations like the Construction Student Association and mentoring younger students. Stoll, who was named Undergraduate Engineer of the Month by UC College of Engineering and Applied Science, will graduate this spring with a job offer from a former co-op employer.

UC students help community partners with business solutions

Three teams of English majors from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences assembled on a late Wednesday afternoon in April for a Zoom presentation. For their clients, they had prepared strategic business guidelines on topics from social media to grant writing and funding proposals to digital volunteer manuals. “Deliverables” in the business sense aren’t usually associated with liberal arts studies. But for students in this Professional Writing Capstone Class, offered through the department of English, it has become a familiar term. Using skills such as strategic analysis, web design, project management and research, the student teams prepared their deliverables for Cincinnati-area clients such as the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati, The American Cancer Society Discovery Store and more.

Undergraduate research co-ops inspire environmental engineer

Megan Naber hopes to put her engineering degree to good use by finding new ways to reduce the environmental problems that arise from the agriculture industry. Naber, an environmental engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, is motivated by her passion for the natural world and her experiences as an undergraduate researcher. Naber is simultaneously working on two degrees as part of the UC College of Engineering and Applied Science ACCEND accelerated degree program.

Civil engineering student grows through co-op

Before earning her civil engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati this spring, Nichole Criner interned abroad in Germany as part of UC's international co-op program and was awarded a prestigious leadership award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Partnership gives UC journalism students real-world experience

The University of Cincinnati's News Collaborative course is the capstone of a Journalism degree at UC. This course offers students a way to compile all that they have learned during their time as students into two stories that they are encouraged to try and get published locally.
