CCM’s streaming concert series continues on Feb. 12

The second episode of CCMONSTAGE Online is now available for on demand viewing. Originally broadcast on Friday, Feb. 12, this 30-minute-long virtual concert features CCM string quartet-in-residence the Ariel Quartet collaborating with master’s degree students Cristian Diaz and Denielle Wilson, who are also both second-year participants in CCM’s innovative Diversity Fellowship initiative with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Callie Tucker, a fourth-year digital media collaborative student, has her sights set on Hollywood, and during her time at UC, Tucker has had the opportunity to intern at some of the most well-known media companies in order to help this dream.

Listen to CCM singers in Cincinnati Opera's 'Blind Injustice' recording

In 2019, Cincinnati Opera premiered Blind Injustice, with music by Scott Davenport Richards and a libretto by David Cote. The work tells the story of Ohioans who were falsely convicted of serious crimes and later exonerated by the Ohio Innocence Project. Blind Injustice was lauded as a “powerful piece of music theater” (The Wall Street Journal) and a “masterpiece” (CityBeat) upon its premiere. Recently, Cincinnati Opera released the live audio recording of the opera through Fanfare Cincinnati, which is now available for streaming and download.

CCM Theatre Design and Production presents virtual student showcase

Students from CCM's Theatre Design and Production department have worked to create personal portfolios to share their craft with the world. In addition to finding the best way to showcase their work, students have worked to create a consistent brand of their own throughout their materials. This Showcase serves as a recognition of their progress, and an opportunity for others to view the culmination of the work they have crafted.

UC grad sees film festival circuit success

Erica Bock wrote a feature length screenplay for her capstone project as a senior in the Digital Media Collaborative in UC’s College of Arts and Sciences. Since graduating in the fall of 2019, she has been making the festival rounds with her drama that focuses on a college student in the 1950s wrestling with drugs and her sexual identity.
