Meet Madison Bourbon, a University of Cincinnati staffer who helps harness the intellectual capital discovered at the university. Bourbon is a senior licensing associate for the Technology Transfer team in the 1819 Innovation Hub and is pursuing her master’s in molecular genetics, biochemistry and microbiology at UC.

In August 2022, UC opened the esports lab in the 1819 Innovation Hub. Since then, the lab has become a hub of activity, providing a home base for the UC esports club and a tournament venue for statewide esports programs, benefiting gamers and STEM students.

The University of Cincinnati officially entered the Big 12 as a conference member on July 1, 2023. The move has elevated UC’s reputation and exposure both athletically and academically on a national level. One of the premier athletic conferences, the Big 12 is now comprised of 14 institutions after welcoming BYU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston. The Bearcats will look to reach even greater heights as a member of the Power 5 conference that has seen its teams win 81 team national championships since its inception in 1994.

At the University of Cincinnati's 1819 Innovation Hub, strategic partners Microsoft, BTS and Cintrifuse joined forces in early June to showcase advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). The event was an 1819 Learning Lab Discover Session designed to help Cincinnati Innovation District partner companies understand emerging technologies and how they can create new opportunities and advantages for their business.
