Ryan Fine (BFA Commercial Music Production, ’17) is a Nashville-based performer, songwriter, pianist and producer who suddenly found himself with an empty calendar when performances were canceled. So, he started Fine-Tuned Custom Songs to create original works for music lovers during the pandemic.

The opportunity to pursue her dream of becoming a ballerina has led a young dancer from West Holmes High School in Millersburg, Ohio, to finish her high school career in three years, according to a feature story in the Daily Record. Hazel Alexander will begin the next step in journey this fall as a first-year BFA dance student at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music.

University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music graduate Leslie Dunner (DMA Orchestral Conducting, ’82) conducted the premiere of Anthony Davis’ The Central Park Five last June with California’s Long Beach Opera. In May, the opera won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Music.

For 15 years, Cincinnati public radio station 91.7 WVXU has highlighted the local arts scene in its “Around Cincinnati” broadcast, produced and hosted by Lee Hay on Sunday evenings.
