Global Technical Workforce course: Nine years, 11 study tours

This spring's Global Technical Workforce course in the University of Cincinnati's College of Engineering and Applied Science offered students in technical fields a chance to work virtually with a class of French students and travel to France or Ghana to build career "soft skills" that complement their technical skills.

UC partners with French university to offer dual degree

The University of Cincinnati and the University of Bordeaux renewed the collaborative Aero System Operations graduate degree program between the universities. The extension was announced at the 54th annual Paris-Le Bourget International Aeronautics and Space Show.

Students can earn two degrees in one year in France and at UC

After spending five years as a Bearcat earning an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering technology, Will Mnich decided to continue at the University of Cincinnati to earn not one, but two additional degrees in the aerospace engineering field. Mnich is a student in the Aero-Systems Operations (AESOP) dual degree program.

Alumnus Steve Schaefer retires from namesake firm

Steve Schaefer, a two-time University of Cincinnati graduate, retired from his namesake structural engineering firm on December 31, 2020. He started Schaefer in 1976 in Cincinnati and served as president until 2006 when he shifted to a principal role. Schaefer earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and his MBA from UC in 1970 and 1976, respectively. The UC College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) awarded him the Herman Schneider Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007.
