The curtain is up on a digital play: 'Lucid Dreaming'

The Cincinnati Review has produced a digital play, the technology version of a stage play. The work, 'Lucid Dreaming' by David Greg is presented in web page format with scrolling features. This was a cross-college effort and is believed to be the first of its kind.

Listen: Cincy Playhouse shares CCM audio plays

Each audio play is its own story, and you can listen to these pieces for free in any order you choose. They represent a year-long collaboration that reached into many corners of Cincinnati. Students from all over UC (CCM Acting, Sound Design, Stage Management, Commercial Music Production, Digital Media, and the College of Arts & Sciences’ Fiction PhD program) and local professional writers (YA author Liz Coley and musician, comedian and raconteur Paul Strickland) came together to make something truly special. Paul Strickland's play will be available soon. The Playhouse is assisting CCM by hosting and helping to promote these free audio plays.

Backstage Magazine: CCM gives students tools to succeed on stage and screen

The magazine recently showcased UC College-Conservatory of Music theatre arts in a questionnaire with Denton Yockey, division head of Theatre Arts, Production and Arts Administration (TAPAA) at CCM.

CCM expands global network with more opportunites for faculty and students

UC’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is elevating its international reputation by creating and expanding opportunities for faculty and students to work and study abroad. “We want our students and faculty to be part of a global network of alumni and artists — to experience other cultures, other languages and other ways of looking at and creating art,” says CCM Dean Stanley E. Romanstein. “CCM is cultivating these opportunities so we can provide students with more hands-on learning experiences that prepare them to take the next steps in their lives and careers.”

WVXU to re-broadcast CCM Radio Theatre plays on Tuesday, Dec. 27

Cincinnati Public Radio and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) have named UC alumnus Cedric Rose winner of the inaugural CCM Radio Theatre playwright competition. The top three winners will receive a cash prize for their work and have their play produced by CCM for broadcast on 91.7 WVXU-FM in spring 2022.

Know Theatre and CCM co-produce "The Light Chasers" world premiere

March 25, 2024

UC College-Conservatory of Music and Know Theatre of Cincinnati co-produce an epic, world premiere theatrical adventure based on the album "Light Chasers" by indie orchestral-rock band Cloud Cult. Featuring CCM student actors and Know Theatre professionals, the production runs April 5-28, 2024 at Know Theatre; tickets on sale now.

UC Blue Ash professor finds inspiration in documents from nation’s troubled past

August 21, 2020

A 1925 property deed owned by her late grandfather inspired Rhonda Pettit to address racial segregation and institutional racism in her poem ‘A Deed Supreme.’ It is one of two poems by Pettit included in the Anthology of Appalachian Writers Crystal Wilkinson Volume XII, which was recently released by the Shepherd University’s Center for Appalachian Studies and Communities.

Making a scene: Senior Theatre Design student reflects on her time at CCM

Cincinnati audiences might not know Marissa Picciuto's name, but they've certainly seen her work on stage at UC's College-Conservatory of Music. She has worked behind the scenes of many productions, including CCM Acting's Clybourne Park last month. This spring, Picciuto graduates with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Stage Design, Props and Scenic Art with a specialization in props.
