UC's Health Sciences Library Presents Photo Exhibit by Jon Hughes

In April 2004, Jon Hughes, photojournalist and UC professor of English and journalism, spent 18 days photographing the work of UC Family Practice physicians, nurses, residents and students as they traveled on the Amazon from village to village conducting day-long clinics. The result is Medicine in the Amazon River Headwaters, an exhibit of Hughes black and white images. The photos will be available for viewing in the UC Health Sciences Library in the Medical Sciences Building from May 1 through June 12, with a reception and gallery talk on May 15 from 2 to 4 p.m.

UC Receives National Science Foundation Funding

New entrepreneurs in the region around Cincinnati will find their opportunities enhanced through a training program to be set up by UC and five partners that will be funded by a $600,000 National Science Foundation grant.

First Kline Lecture Set For March 23

John R. Searle, a professor of the Philosophy of Mind and Language at Cal-Berkeley, will be the special guest at the first-ever Daniel L. Kline Lecture, sponsored by UC's Philosophy Department and the Neuroscience Daniel L. Kline Fund. The date of the lecture is March 23.
