Watch the CCM Philharmonia's Sept. 20 performance

In addition to the CCMONSTAGE Online series of digital concerts and performing arts productions, the UC College-Conservatory of Music is also presenting virtual performances through its CCMONSTAGE Archives companion series. Our newest installment in this ongoing series features the CCM Philharmonia student orchestra performing Antonín Dvořák's Serenade for Wind Instruments, Op. 44 (1878) and Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 103 in E-flat Major, D. 944 (“Drumroll”) (1795). Led by Director of Orchestral Studies Mark Gibson, this archival performance footage was recorded in Corbett Auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020.

Violin alum Christopher Robinson receives 2021 Knights Arts Champion Award

UC College-Conservatory of Music Alumnus Christopher Robinson (BM Violin, ‘15) was recently announced as a 2021 Knights Arts Champion by the Knight Foundation in Miami, Florida. The Foundation selects community leaders who have contributed to the region’s arts and culture scene and awards them $10,000 to direct to a South Florida artist or arts organization of their choice. Robinson is the Founder/Co-Artistic Director of VIA Academy, a free summer music program for young aspiring musicians from remote and underrepresented communities in classical music. He is also a recent alumnus of the New World Symphony in Miami and currently performs in the second violin section of the Louisville Orchestra.

In the News: CCM performs at New York's Carnegie Hall

UC College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) students and Broadway alumni took the stage at Carnegie Hall to present a one-night-only performance and fundraiser to help support the next generation of performing and media artists. The January 14 event honored CCM alumnus Stephen Flaherty while also raising money for CCM scholarships and educational initiatives.

Violin Channel: CCM alumna accepted into third Sphinx LEAD Program

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Johnnia Stigall (BM Viola, '12; MM Viola, '12; MA Arts Administration, '14) is a member of the third cohort of the prestigious Sphinx LEAD (Leaders in Excellence, Arts and Diversity) program. The two-year leadership program is designed to evolve the industry landscape by empowering the next generation of executive leaders.

Ariel Quartet closes season with Brahms and Beethoven on March 21

March 13, 2023

The Ariel Quartet closes their 2022-23 season Tuesday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Werner Recital Hall. The emotional program, centered around the Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor and featuring faculty artist Soyeon Kate Lee, also includes works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

Arts for all: CCM offers mix of online, in-person electives in fall 2020

UC’s College-Conservatory of Music offers dozens of different general studies and arts elective courses in fall 2020. These credit-granting courses are open to all UC students and cover a wide range of topics including dance, movies and media, music and theatre arts! Course offerings include options for in-person and online instruction.
