CCM Dance presents excerpts from 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Swan Lake' plus new premiere on April 13-16

CCM Dance caps its 2022-23 season with “Fairies, Swans and Still Waters” April 13-16 in Corbett Auditorium. The program is centered around the world premiere of “Still Waters,” with choreography by Shauna Steele and music by DMA Composition student Grace Choi. Selections from two of the most beloved works of the classical ballet repertoire bookend the premiere: Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. Tickets are available now through the CCM Box Office.

CCM Dance presents 'An American in Paris + Other Works' on Nov. 30-Dec. 2

CCM Dance proudly presents An American in Paris + Other Works, a lively program featuring repertoire ranging from classical ballet to modern dance. The centerpiece of the program is An American in Paris, a one-act ballet set to George Gershwin’s iconic music, choreographed by guest artist Peter Davison.

Life at CCM: Student conductor takes the lead on stage

Many students at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music balance a rigorous performance schedule with their studies — pushing the boundaries of traditional classroom experiences to turn CCM stages into their own creative laboratories. In orchestral performances, one could consider the conductor as the "lead scientist" who guides the ensemble during a concert, but Michael Patterson explains the magic on stage is a group effort.

CCM Voice student receives Encouragement Award at prestigious Houston Grand Opera Competition

UC College-Conservatory of Music undergraduate Voice student Sam Dhobhany recently won the Ana Maria Martinez Encouragement Award in Houston Grand Opera’s 2024 Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers. Dhobhany, a bass-baritone in the studio of Professor Ken Shaw, competed in Houston on February 2 during the “Concert of Arias,” the competition’s live-broadcasted final round.
