UC student aims to improve electric vehicles

Through his research in the Integrated Vehicle Design Lab at the University of Cincinnati, Mohammad Behtash merges his interests in green energy and automotive technology to design optimization algorithms that could be used by the electric vehicle industry to build less costly and more efficient cars. Behtash, a mechanical engineering doctoral student, was selected by UC’s College of Engineering and Applied Science as the Graduate Student Engineer of the Month.

UC honors engineering alumnus’ achievements

The University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science is honoring alumnus William J Kramer Jr. with the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest alumni honor. Bill Kramer led General Tool Company for 50 years and was supportive of engineering students through committees to raise funds for scholarships and by hosting more than 100 co-op students through the years.

Student athlete balances football and engineering

Ryan Royer was sure of two things: he wanted to play college football and he wanted to be an engineer. Undeterred by the hard work that both of his passions required, Royer is now entering his final year as a linebacker for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and he will earn his mechanical engineering degree this spring.

Alumnus honored for building Black Achievers professional network

Michael Moore, a University of Cincinnati mechanical engineering alumnus, was featured by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber in its Making Black History celebration honoring seven Black leaders living, working and building legacies in the region. Moore is the founder, CEO and president of Black Achievers, a nonprofit, professional networking organization with more than 4,000 members in Cincinnati and 30,000 nationwide.
