Five African-American researchers and healthcare professionals on UC’s medical campus have received sizable grants from the National Institutes of Health during the past 18 months. The faculty members were interviewed by WCPO to help showcase innovation and the diverse voices and perspectives they bring as the healthcare community attempts to ease health disparities in communities of color in Cincinnati and beyond.

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine awarded 176 medical degrees during Honors Day, Sunday, May 23 in Fifth Third Arena. UC President Neville Pinto, UC Board of Trustees Chair Ronald Brown and Dean Andrew Filak, MD, of the College of Medicine offered remarks. Farzaan Kassam, a fourth-year medical student, was this year's class speaker.

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine will host Honors Day at Fifth Third Arena Sunday, May 23. The college will award medical degrees to 176 individuals during the commencement ceremony.

Hagar Elgendy, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, was recently featured on a Positively Cincinnati segment on WCPO-TV. Elgendy balanced the rigors of medical school with juggling motherhood duties for four children, all born during her tenure as a medical student.

Fourth-year medical students at the University of Cincinnati celebrated Match Day 2021 with social media posts, facetime visits, texts and calls to family and friends. UC had 174 matched students who now know where they will spend the next three to seven years completing a medical residency. They will be the future doctors of Cincinnati and beyond.
