CCM Flute student wins position with United States Army Fife and Drum Corps

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music congratulates fourth-year doctoral candidate Vincenzo Volpe on his recent appointment to the United States Army Fife and Drum Corps. This historical ensemble is a one-of-a-kind military band who perform in traditional uniforms, and is stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia.

CCM Trumpet alum tours USA with 'The Book of Mormon'

Returning after a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus, this nine-time Tony Award winning musical adds numerous new stops for its 2023-24 season.

CCM Professor Awadagin Pratt spotlighted for commitment to inclusion in the arts

Uc College-Conservatory of Music Professor of Piano and Artist-in-Residence Awadagin Pratt spoke to the Cincinnati Business Courier about his aspirations to diversify the arts industry by encouraging the next generation Black American pianists. Pratt was one of three recipients of the 2021 Sphinx Venture Fund, generating an award of $100,000 to kick-start the biannual Nina Simone Piano Competition beginning summer 2023.

CCM alumna featured in Strings Magazine digital performance series

Strings Magazine shone the spotlight on UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Anita Graef (MM Cello Performance, ‘19), featuring the rising star in a digital performance of Sibelius’ Theme and Variations for Solo Cello and Gliere’s 8 Pieces for Violin and Cello. The concert is still available for viewing on the publication’s website.

CSO Fanfare Project debuts new work performed by CSO/CCM Diversity Fellow

November 16, 2020

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's Fanfare Project launched in May 2020 to commission and premiere new solo works in response to the coronavirus pandemic. It's shared new music from more than 12 composers so far, including a recently premiered Viola Fanfare by Grammy-winner and MacArthur "Genius Grant" recipient Rhiannon Giddens.
