Student-led short film premieres at Slamdance Film Festival

For Clark Comstock and Claire Foley, what began as a class project turned into a major opportunity — their short film "Kayla Baby" will premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival on January 22 and 24 in Park City, Utah.

Cincinnati Magazine: What colleges learned from the pandemic

CCM Musical Theatre has a tradition of welcoming their first-year students with a showcase. However, for the class of 2024, the pandemic had other plans. Determined to make this performance happen, faculty and students adapted to create a virtual performance entitled, “Wake Up,” in which newcomers were featured monologues and performances shot in various locations across Cincinnati.

CCM teaches "disguise" tech to the next generation of lighting and video designers

UC College-Conservatory of Music Professor Sharon Huizinga and Vickie Claiborne, Training Manager for disguise Americas, have been working closely together over the past few years to help video and lighting students learn disguise — a platform that combines leading production software with powerful media server hardware, to empower artists and production houses to tell stories that inspire audiences. This collaboration was recently spotlighted on disguise's website.

CCM professor’s compositions featured in concert:nova performance

UC College-Conservatory of Music Composition Professor Michael Fiday will be celebrated in a retrospective program presented by concert:nova, a Cincinnati-based ensemble dedicated to innovative performances. The concert takes place on Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Myaamia Hall at ARCO Cincinnati, and will feature a wide selection of the Fiday’s award-wining output. Tickets are available online.
