Business Courier: Lindner, UC grads form 1819 Wealth Advisors

Name of new investment advisory practice is a nod to UC’s founding year

A pair of Cincinnati-based Raymond James investment advisory groups have joined forces as 1819 Wealth Advisors. The new, combined practice manages investments and financial planning for local and national households.

Four of the practice’s six partners attended the Carl H. Lindner College of Business: Mire Jonovski, Bus ’77, AAMS, First Vice President, Investments; Dustin Martin, Bus ’14, CFP, CEPA, Financial Advisor; David Rodrigo, Bus ’94, ’06, CPA, PFS, CFP, MBA, MSBA, First Vice President, Investments; and Dan Snow, Bus ’01, CFP, AAMS, CRPS, Branch Director and Financial Advisor.

The two other 1819 partners are UC graduate, Geoff Ziegler, A&S ’07, CECH ’12, AAMS, Financial Advisor, and Jason E. Goldberg, CFP, First Vice President, Investments. The 1819 name is a nod of appreciation to the founding year of the University of Cincinnati and the city of Cincinnati.

“We all got along and realized we were doing a lot of the same things in terms of financial planning and managing portfolios,” Snow told the Cincinnati Business Courier. “We had similar philosophies. It kind of morphed into looking at combining these teams to be more efficient and to see if we can take things to the next level.”

1819 Wealth Advisors is now affiliated with Raymond James Select after previously being aligned with Raymond James Associates. Per the Cincinnati Business Courier, 1819 considers its structure a hybrid between working for an investment firm and a “full-blown registered investment adviser they own and control.”

“We felt like a natural first step was to take on rent and staff,” Martin said to the Cincinnati Business Courier. “We still get that back-office support, so we get to be advisers every day.”

1819 Wealth Advisors recently visited Lindner Hall to discuss 1819’s origin, their experiences studying business at UC, the importance of co-op and more.
