UC College of Medicine Awards 3 With Drake Medals

The Daniel Drake Medal was first awarded in 1985 during the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the UC College of Medicine s founder, pioneering physician Daniel Drake. The award, considered to be the highest honor bestowed by the College of Medicine, is given annually to honor distinguished living faculty and alumni.

Focus On Students With Ifeanyi Nzegwu

T Cell Imbalance Increases Risk for Gastrointestinal Infection Recurrence

University of Cincinnati researchers have found that an imbalance in the regulation of certain T cells the cells in the body that fight off infection or attack the system in certain autoimmune diseases may put certain people at a higher risk of having recurrent cases of Clostridium difficile, or C. Diff, infection.

UC Emergency, Trauma and Cardiology Experts Team Up for EMS Education Conference Feb. 18-19

Physicians, nurses and educators from the UC departments of emergency medicine, trauma and critical care and cardiology, along with Cincinnati Children s Medical Center, University Hospital Air Care and Mobile Care and UC Health West Chester Hospital, are partnering to hold the 2012 EMS Midwest Conference, an educational conference discussing the latest in EMS knowledge for local and regional EMS departments.
