CCM piano student wins prize at 14th International Piano Competition of Orléans

CCM soprano featured in new recording of John Corigliano’s 'The Ghost of Versailles'

Recent CCM graduate Teresa Perrotta (MM Voice, ’19; AD Opera Performance, ’21) has barely left CCM’s halls, but her successful career is already beginning. She is the starring voice on a new album of John Corigliano’s The Ghost of Versailles, recorded after the production’s premiere at the Glimmerglass Festival in 2019 during its appearance at the Château du Versailles itself later that year. CCM announces the winners of its 2022 Opera Scholarship Competition

Twenty-three current and incoming students competed for five coveted full-tuition scholarships and $50,000 in additional awards during CCM's 2021 Opera Scholarship Competition. Since its inauguration in 1976, this annual competition welcomes current and incoming CCM voice students to compete for scholarships and cash prizes. A panel of judges composed of opera industry professionals selects each year’s class of prizewinners.

CCM Acting stars featured in Cincinnati premiere of "They/Them/Us"

Local audiences can attend the Cincinnati premiere of a new film to watch the work of UC College-Conservatory of Music Acting alum Jack Steiner (BFA '20) and Professor Robert Pavlovich. "They/Them/Us," a film based in Columbus, premieres on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at the Esquire Theatre in Cincinnati. Audiences can catch showings at noon and at 2 p.m.

Award-winning pianist Sara Daneshpour joins CCM's faculty

UC College-Conservatory of Music Interim Dean Jonathan Kregor has announced the addition of Sara Daneshpour to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. Daneshpour’s appointment as Assistant Professor of Piano begins on Aug. 15, 2023.

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at modern dance training at UC's College-Conservatory of Music, courtesy of the new Backstage at CCM documentary series. This mini-documentary takes viewers inside CCM's Modern Dance Tech Class, taught by Shauna Steele, Associate Professor and Chair of Dance at CCM. The video was filmed before UC's mask mandate was lifted. It is produced by UC students as part of CCM's Production Master Class, taught by Melissa Godoy.

CCM Media Production faculty, alumna win Emmy Awards for sports programs

August 18, 2023

A faculty member and an alumna of UC College-Conservatory of Music's Media Production program won National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmys during the 2023 award cycle. Professor Joe Brackman won an Ohio Valley Emmy Award in the Director category and alumna Paula Gibson Pujol (BFA '19) won a Northwest Regional Emmy in the Sports Program, Post-Produced or Edited category.
