CCM alums win prestigious grants from the Sphinx Organization

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music is thrilled to congratulate alums Titilayo Ayangade (BM Cello, ’14) and Jaime Sharp (MM Voice, ’22) on their recent wins of two MPower Artist Grants from the Sphinx Organization. Available only to alumni of the Sphinx Organization, these competitive grants are intended to “empower artists’ careers.”

CCM alumni unite to create new musical 'With Beckett'

January 26, 2021

Two UC College-Conservatory of Music alums from the college’s theatre arts division come together to create a new Broadway musical. Jessica Hendy (BFA Musical Theatre, ‘93) and Richard Oberacker (BFA Acting, ‘93) are currently collaborating on With Becket, a one-woman show staring Hendy.

Violin Channel: CCM alumna accepted into third Sphinx LEAD Program

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Johnnia Stigall (BM Viola, '12; MM Viola, '12; MA Arts Administration, '14) is a member of the third cohort of the prestigious Sphinx LEAD (Leaders in Excellence, Arts and Diversity) program. The two-year leadership program is designed to evolve the industry landscape by empowering the next generation of executive leaders.

Composition alumnus selected for New Music USA Amplifying Voices Program

New Music USA recently announced six composers who have been co-commissioned to write new orchestral works through its Amplifying Voices Program, supported by the Sphinx Venture Fund. As one of the lead orchestras in the program, Berkeley Symphony co-commissioned UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Brian Raphael Nabors (MM Composition, ’15; DMA Composition, ’19) to write a new piece that will be premiered in the 2021-22 season.
