CCM's Graduate Student Association wins GSA of the year award

Earlier this month, the University of Cincinnati’s Graduate Student Government recognized the College-Conservatory of Music’s Graduate Student Association (GSA) with its GSA of the Year award. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions that the group has made to the quality of graduate student life within the CCM and UC communities. This year’s GSA consists of Maria Seffrin, president; Caitlan Truelove, vice president; Muning Wang, secretary; and Matt Coffey, treasurer. The Graduate Student Government also recognized Truelove with the Graduate Student Award for Exemplary Scholarship.

CCM’s recent production of "The Marriage of Figaro" (Le nozze di Figaro, 1786) is now available for on-demand viewing as part of the CCMONSTAGE Online Archives series. This iconic opera, which was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, was originally performed live in Corbett Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. CCM Opera brings harrowing myth to life in 'The Rape of Lucretia'

UC College Conservatory of Music (CCM) launches its Opera Series with Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. The opera, one of the masterpieces of the English repertoire, runs Thursday, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov 19 in the Patricia Corbett Theatre. Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

CCM Opera’s spring 2022 production of "Galileo Galilei" nominated for BroadwayWorld awards

CCM Opera’s production of Philp Glass’s Galileo Galilei recently nabbed five nominations in BroadwayWorld Cincinnati’s annual awards for excellence in the region’s performing arts. The production, which ran from March 31 to April 3, 2022, has been recognized in the categories of Best Ensemble, Best Direction of a Musical (Greg Eldridge, Associate Professor of Opera Directing), Best Lighting Design of a Play or Musical (Ian Macintosh, BFA Lighting Design ‘22, and Thomas Hase, MFA Lighting Design) and Best Choreography (Hazel Alexander, BFA Dance ‘24). The awards are determined by audience vote, and the online poll is open through December 31.

CCM's streaming series continues with performance by the Chamber Choir

CCM's "stars of tomorrow" are back on stage, and you get the best seats in the house! The third episode of CCMONSTAGE Online is now available for on-demand viewing. Originally broadcast on Friday, March, 19, "Together/Apart" is an hour-long virtual concert featuring the CCM Chamber Choir under the direction of accomplished new faculty member Joe Miller, who was named the director of CCM's lauded Choral Studies program in 2020.

CCM Idea Lab music video receives NATAS Student Production Award nomination

Faculty and students at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music are collaborating on innovative multimedia projects in the CCM Idea Lab. The cross disciplinary class explores technical, artistic and philosophical questions to create short performance pieces that showcase the work of students and faculty from CCM Lighting Design and Technology, Sound Design and Technology, Technical Direction, Stage Management, Dance, Acting, Voice, Musical Theatre and Media Production.

US Coast Guard Band's 'Heartland Harmonies' tour presents concert at CCM

The United States Coast Guard Band brings its "Heartland Harmonies" concert tour to UC's College-Conservatory of Music on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The free concert is presented in Corbett Auditorium as part of the band's tour through the American South and Midwest regions for public performances and educational outreach.
