The UC College of Law begins its 174th academic year on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Among the start-of-year activities for the students will be a welcoming address from Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Mickey Barker, a member of the college's class of 1967.

The law takes an interesting turn on Sept. 7, when the UC College of Law presents a production of "Impeach Justice Douglas!" followed by a First Amendment panel discussion in CCM's Patricia Corbett Theater.

A panel of distinguished judicial officials will be participating in the UC College of Law's second annual Constitution Day program on Sept. 18.

Alfred K. Nippert, Jr., a 1976 graduate of the UC College of Law and member of one of UC's most supportive families, has donated his vast library of law books to UC's Marx Law Library. The more than 60,000 volume donation helps make UC a principal research library, and was so large that it took three semi tractor-trailers to deliver.

Cincinnati news veteran Nick Clooney will visit the UC College of Law on Tuesday, Oct. 3, to discuss his recent trip to the crisis-ridden region around Darfur in the Sudan.
