The emotional program, centered around the Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor and featuring faculty artist Soyeon Kate Lee, also includes works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music congratulates fourth-year doctoral candidate Vincenzo Volpe on his recent appointment to the United States Army Fife and Drum Corps. This historical ensemble is a one-of-a-kind military band who perform in traditional uniforms, and is stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia.

Returning after a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus, this nine-time Tony Award winning musical adds numerous new stops for its 2023-24 season.

Cincinnati Public Radio and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) have named UC alumnus Cedric Rose winner of the inaugural CCM Radio Theatre playwright competition. The top three winners will receive a cash prize for their work and have their play produced by CCM for broadcast on 91.7 WVXU-FM in spring 2022.

The UC College-Conservatory of Music has numerous alums employed by military bands all across the nation. However, one such luminary recently made history, achieving an unprecedented honor: Adrienne Doctor (BM Music Ed, ’11; MM Trumpet, ’15), the first female drum major to lead a band at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.

UC College-Conservatory of Music hosts jazz harpist Park Stickney for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, in Robert J. Werner Recital Hall. Celebrated internationally for his innovative playing, Stickney is joined by CCM Professor of Saxophone James Bunte and CCM Jazz Bass student Teddy Mechley. The concert, which is Stickney’s Cincinnati debut, is free and open to the public.
