CCM alumnus Edward Nelson wins Glyndebourne Opera Cup

University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Edward Nelson (BM Voice, 2011; MM Voice, 2013) took home the first prize award at the 2020 Glyndebourne Opera Cup, an international competition designed to discover and spotlight the best young opera singers from around the world. Dame Janet Baker, the competition’s honorary president, gave Nelson his trophy, which was inspired by the golden lyre that Baker used in Glyndebourne's 1982 production of Orfeo ed Euridice.

CCM voice student advances to Lotte Lenya Competition finals

CCM voice professor Amy Johnson releases 'Portrait of an Artist'

UC College-Conservatory of Music Assistant Professor of Voice Amy Johnson released her first solo album, "Portrait of an Artist," this summer. The album showcases Johnson’s wide range of vocal abilities, features works in six languages and four pieces that have never been featured on professionally-released albums.

CCM voice alumnae named 2019 Sara Tucker Study Grant recipients

Each year, the Richard Tucker Music Foundation awards the Sara Tucker Study Grant to singers, selected through a vocal competition, who are recently out of the university or conservatory and are considered to be at the beginning of promising careers. This year’s newly-announced recipients include two recent UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnae: Kayleigh Decker (MM Voice, 2017) and Jessica Faselt (MM Voice, 2016).

Recent CCM graduate Teresa Perrotta (MM Voice, ’19; AD Opera Performance, ’21) has barely left CCM’s halls, but her successful career is already beginning. She is the starring voice on a new album of John Corigliano’s The Ghost of Versailles, recorded after the production’s premiere at the Glimmerglass Festival in 2019 during its appearance at the Château du Versailles itself later that year. Washington Post: CCM alumna in 22 for '22 list of artists to watch this year

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Raven McMillon (MM Voice ‘20) was recently spotlighted in The Washington Post's "22 for ‘22: Composers and performers to watch this year. " The prestigious list holds spots for artists, such as Carlos Simon and Kamala Sankaram whose works have been featured at Washington National Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, Minnesota Opera and Houston Grand Opera.
