Lung cancer screening is now available for Tristate residents who are at an increased risk for lung cancer. Individuals who have smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for more than 20 years and those with a prior lung cancer diagnosis are considered at the highest risk.

A new addition to this year's College of Medicine's Honors Day celebration was the awarding of the John Shaw Billings, MD, Alumni Leadership Award. The award went to Thomas Graham, MD, Class of 1988, who currently serves as chairman of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, vice chair of orthopedics and Justice Family Chair in Medical Innovations.

A new study from the UC College of Medicine has found that, when delivered via ultrasound, the natural enzyme plasmin is more effective at dissolving stroke-causing clots than the standard of care, recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA).
