IRA Updates to the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

Among the Inflation Reduction Act’s expansions to existing tax credit opportunities are those that promote the adoption of solar energy systems. The IRA extends the provisions of the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) so residential homeowners who install designated solar energy systems between January 1, 2022, through the end of 2032, will receive a tax credit of 30% of the cost from their federal income taxes.

Cincinnati Edition: The federal spending bill’s effect on retirement, savings

Included in the $1.7 trillion federal spending bill signed into law last month are provisions that could affect Americans’ retirement and savings decisions. Mike Neugent, assistant finance professor-educator and director of the MS Finance program, told WVXU’s “Cincinnati Edition” that a provision in the new bill that caught his eye was the automatic enrollment option for new retirement plans.

Presented by the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business Alumni Council, the 38th annual CBAAs will be held March 8 at the Cincinnati Museum Center. The region’s longest-standing event that celebrates business achievement as well as service to communities — both locally and globally — the CBAAs also raise funds for scholarships and financial assistance at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
