CCM alumna featured in Strings Magazine digital performance series

Strings Magazine shone the spotlight on UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Anita Graef (MM Cello Performance, ‘19), featuring the rising star in a digital performance of Sibelius’ Theme and Variations for Solo Cello and Gliere’s 8 Pieces for Violin and Cello. CCM announces inaugural wind competition in memory of bassoonist William Winstead

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) announces the creation of an annual competition for wind players in memory of Cincinnati Symphony principal bassoonist and long-time faculty member, William O. Winstead. The inaugural competition will culminate with finalists vying for cash prizes in a public performance scheduled for spring 2022.

CCM Oboe Prof. Titus Underwood explores his ultimate playlist with BBC

First year UC College-Conservatory Oboe Professor Titus Underwood was recently featured on BBC’s Inside Sounds, sharing 16 tracks that are near and dear to his heart and carry musical influence over his performance. Underwood is the principal oboe of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, a member of the UK-based Chineke! Orchestra, and a 2021 Sphinx Medal of Excellence recipient.

UC grant-funded musical work 'Our House is on Fire' premieres on Oct. 7

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music is pleased to share that one of its faculty, Assistant Professor of Voice Quinn Patrick Ankrum, was chosen by UC’s Office of Research for a $10,000 research grant. The funding will go toward Our House is on Fire, a newly-commissioned musical work for voice and piano, accompanying visual and written works, and freely-available digital performances of that work.
