UC engineering student Jake Bartel has his sights set on earning a computer science degree and becoming a fashion model, along with his twin brother Nate. In 2022, the twins were first selected to walk the runway in the Gucci fashion show in Milan, Italy and then asked back to model for the fashion house's 2023 advertising campaign. The brothers were discovered by talent scouts at the annual Twins reunion in Twinsburg, Ohio, which is also their hometown.

Her extensive contributions to the field of piano pedagogy is extraordinary. The boisterous notes of New Orleans’ opulent Mardi Gras will fill the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center's Harriet Tubman Theater during a concert featuring UC College-Conservatory of Music students and faculty beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3. A companion to the Freedom Center’s Black History Month programming, this off-campus New Orleans Mardi Gras Concert is a celebration of music and culture featuring New Orleans-based jazz trumpeter Ashlin Parker and the CCM Jazz Orchestra. Directed by CCM Director of Jazz Studies Scott Belck, DMA, the Saturday night concert promises an evening with all the revelry and flair of Mardi Gras, followed by a reception and meet-and-greet with the Ashlin Parker.

The Ohio Arts Council selected UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Kathy Wade (MM Arts Administration, '81) to receive a Governor’s Award for the Arts in Ohio. In recognition of their impactful and visionary leadership in Ohio’s creative sector and their sustained dedication to promoting artistic excellence, awardees will be honored during a ceremony on May 17, 2023. Each of the winners will receive an original work of art by painter Brian Robinson of Dover.
