WVXU: Podcast showcases CCM's pipeline to entertainment industry

WVXU's Cincinnati Edition recently featured the podcast in an interview with co-hosts Brian J. Leitten (BFA E-Media, ’02) and Dylan Mulvaney (BFA Musical Theatre, ’19).

In this excerpt from the CCM Musical Theatre Class of 2024 Freshman Showcase, students Benjamin Cheng, Nate Jones, Michael Lee Jr. and Madison Mosley perform Glen Ballard and Siedah Garrett’s “Man in the Mirror” at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati. Segments of CCM's Musical Theatre Freshman Showcase were recorded at iconic locations throughout the city in collaboration with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, Imperial Theatre Mohawk Arts Center, Memorial Hall, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Washington Park.

UC announces new chief academic officer

UC President Neville G. Pinto informed the campus community today that Valerio Ferme, PhD, dean of UC’s largest college, will begin as the university’s chief academic officer effective Aug. 3.

In this excerpt from the CCM Musical Theatre Class of 2024 Freshman Showcase, students Benjamin Cheng, Jeffrey Cornelius, Michael Lee Jr., Madison Mosley, Peter Neureuther, Annalise Prentiss, Julia Schick, Cynsere Stevens and Jamal Stone perform Cynthia Erivo and Joshuah Brian Campbell’s “Stand Up” from the film “Harriet” on the banks of the Ohio River and at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

CCM pianist awarded second prize in performance competition

June 15, 2021

Current CCM doctoral pianist Jiao Sun took home the second prize and $5,000 from the Washington International Piano Competition in early June. Sun, who attended Eastman before moving to Cincinnati for her Artist Diploma and doctorate, studies with CCM Associate Professor of Piano Soyeon Kate Lee. For her performance, Sun prepared a a full recital program of works by Brahms, Vine, Haydn, Prokofiev and Bach.

CCM soprano featured in new recording of John Corigliano’s 'The Ghost of Versailles'

Recent CCM graduate Teresa Perrotta (MM Voice, ’19; AD Opera Performance, ’21) has barely left CCM’s halls, but her successful career is already beginning. She is the starring voice on a new album of John Corigliano’s The Ghost of Versailles, recorded after the production’s premiere at the Glimmerglass Festival in 2019 during its appearance at the Château du Versailles itself later that year.
