Communities around the world are implementing a wide variety of tools to battle COVID-19. A researcher at the University of Cincinnati College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) is part of a project that uses storytelling and images to help people better understand the purpose and science behind public health recommendations about COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak changed the delivery of education when it forced in-person learning at the University of Cincinnati to shut down in mid-March of 2020. Colleges at UC had to quickly scramble to reimagine how to teach their students in an unprecedented environment. Leadership at the College of Allied Health Sciences immediately began the complicated process of designing learning plans that would meet the needs of their various departments.

Dan Willen, the assistant head athletic trainer for the AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals, graduated from UC in 1998 with a degree in health promotion with an emphasis on athletic training. That program would be part of the formation a year later of the College of Allied Health Sciences. One of the reasons Dan, who went to high school in Dayton, OH, chose UC is because his dad graduated from the aerospace engineering program at UC in 1968 and did his co-op at NASA during the height of the manned missions to the moon.
