Initial data from a University of Cincinnati clinical research study aimed at increasing diet quality and decreasing cardiovascular risk shows positive results. The study, called Supermarket and Web-Based Intervention Targeting Nutrition (SuperWIN), was a randomized, controlled trial that promotes a heart-healthy diet through nutrition counseling provided by a supermarket-based, registered dietitian within one of each participant’s home grocery stores.

Concerns in the community continue due to the noise of gunshots coming from a Cincinnati Police Department gun range in Evendale. Brian Earl, PhD, in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the UC College of Allied Health Sciences conducted audiology tests in 2020 to measure the impact of the noise and was interviewed by WCPO-TV.

Sports gambling became legal in Ohio as of Jan. 1, 2023 and the University of Cincinnati College of Allied Health Sciences is one of six organizations statewide to get an Ohio grant to train social workers to better handle problem gamblers in the coming year. Local12 posted a story on the program.
