President Pinto's statement on conflict in Middle East

Over the weekend, Hamas launched a terrorist attack on Israel killing or injuring many civilians and taking others hostage. Israel has since declared war on Hamas, and the world has watched in horror as over 2,200 individuals in the region have been killed in the resulting violence. I am shocked and anguished over this tremendous loss of life and join the call for peace in the region.

We are committed to supporting our diverse community of faculty, staff and students from all over the world, and particular those from the region impacted. Our hearts go out to all who are affected by the ongoing tragedies. 

Many members of our UC community are understandably distraught at the news, including but not limited to those who have family, friends or colleagues in the region. We encourage all members of our community to support one another and extend grace and understanding as individuals process these tragic events. Below are resources available to those who may need support.

Help for students

If you are associated with these regions and need support, please contact UC International. If you would like to talk to a counselor, please contact Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) at 513-556-0648. Students can also access support and resources provided by the Dean of Students. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need support.
