UC's CCM announces 'Furnish the Future' seat-naming campaign

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) Corbett Auditorium has played a major role in helping aspiring artists succeed while also bringing our community together. It has been the home to thousands of productions, concerts and recitals, where CCM's stars of tomorrow have showcased their talents for decades. Countless alumni made their debut on its stage and hundreds of thousands of audience members have been whisked away on musical journeys in its seats. In honor of 150 years of CCM’s legacy of producing the world’s next top stars, producers, educators, composers, behind the scenes artists and media personnel, Corbett Auditorium has received an upgrade.

Classes begin for increasingly diverse student body at UC

August 23, 2021

The first day of classes for the fall semester at the University of Cincinnati starts Monday, Aug. 23, and more than 46,700 students are expected to begin instruction with a more traditional fall term, focusing on in-person instruction and activities.

Aya Yoshida receives CCM's prestigious Zemlinsky Prize for composers

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is proud to announce that Aya Yoshida has been awarded first prize in CCM’s Alexander Zemlinsky Prize for Composition. The Zemlinsky Prize, instituted in 1990 and awarded every six or seven years, promotes the music of young composers from around the world, while honoring Alexander Zemlinsky (1871-1942), a composer who is becoming increasingly recognized as among the 20th century's significant musical voices. Previous winners include Ulrich Kreppein, Nerong Prangcharoen and Moritz Eggert.

CCM students take the stage at The Carnegie in Northern Kentucky this summer

What do a cast of classic children's characters, a Pulitzer Prize-winning musical and the tale of an immigrant who would become one of the biggest bootleggers (and local legends) in history all have in common? They’ll all be making their way to The Carnegie in Northern Kentucky this summer with nearly 20 CCM students, alumni and faculty members in the cast and crew.

Emmy nominated lighting designer Kevin Lawson joins CCM’s faculty

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Stanley E. Romanstein has announced the addition of Kevin Lawson to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. An accomplished theatre and television professional, Lawson’s appointment as Assistant Professor of Lighting Design and Technology begins on Aug. 15, 2021.
