The 70th DAAP fashion show was the hottest ticket in town

The 70th anniversary DAAP Fashion Show was celebrated on April 28, at the MegaCorp Pavilion in Northern Kentucky. This show, which sold out to almost 1000 attendees, ran in conjunction with DAAPworks, which celebrates the creativity of the graduating Class of 2023.

Ustick, an associate professor in UC’s School of Art, within the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), is one of the most prominent muralists in the region with murals in seven U.S. states and projects stemming from residencies in Argentina and Italy.

Students at UC's School of Design at DAAP learn the creative journey from design studio to the runway, and getting there is exhilarating says 2015 design grad Caitlin McCall. Currently working at Two Fish studios, a McCall design was featured at Omaha Fashion week 2023. McCall states that she wants her patterns to be accessible and will soon be offering them for free on open source platforms.

WVXU: VR headsets put caregivers in the shoes of those they are assisting

Ming Tang, director of UC's virtual reality lab, is collaborating with experts on eldercare to design program that prepare caregivers for these difficult conversations.

National media highlight newest US World Heritage site

For nearly two decades, professor emeritus John Hancock helped lead a team of archaeologists, historians and Native American scholars, including staff at the National Park Service and Ohio History Connection, to have the Hopewell earthworks recognized on par with other World Heritage sites such as the Great Wall of China and Stonehenge.
