CCM alumna wins second prize at Felix Mendelssohn International Conducting Competition

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) alumna Chaowen Ting (MM Orchestral Conducting, ‘11) recently won second prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Conducting Competition. Held annually Karlovy Vary, in the Czech Republic, the Mendelssohn Competition draws talent from all over the world, and past awardees hold posts at major symphonies and operas in Europe, America and Asia.

Groundbreaking UC startup propels aviation safety to new heights

Local innovators Chris Kyoochul Lee, Jon Taylor and Huzefa Dossaji, offer a promising new startup solution to revolutionize aircraft ground handling process for enhanced safety. They co-founded Airtrek Robotics, creating an autonomous robot that oversees ground crew tasks like aircraft marshaling and foreign object debris (FOD) management. The technology operates within the aircraft safety envelope, ensuring no person or object is within the restricted perimeter during aircraft maneuvers.
