Ellen Demerath, PhD, associate professor at the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology & Community Health, will deliver the annual lecture.

Now an associate professor of communication sciences and disorders at UC s College of Allied Health Sciences, Pete Scheifele, PhD, got his start in science through the U.S. Navy. A Vietnam veteran, Scheifele served as a Navy diver and oceanographer for more than two decades, stationed on submarines, at Pearl Harbor and within naval think tanks.
