UC to become home for Philosophy of Science Association

As of January, 2021, the Philosophy of Science Association (PSA) moves its executive office to the University of Cincinnati for a five-year term. Located in UC’s College of Arts and Sciences and affiliated with the Department of Philosophy, the PSA move will bring new academic opportunities and increased reach to humanities studies at UC. “This formal partnership with the PSA is a nice recognition in the field of philosophy of our department’s strength in this area,” says Angela Potochnik, professor of Philosophy and director of UC’s Center for Public Engagement with Science.

WVXU: UC/Children’s pilot new WIC enrollment method to reach the eligible

Researchers from the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center have received federal funding to develop user-friendly enrollment tools for Greater Cincinnati residents eligible for WIC, the federal assistance program called the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.

CCM welcomes Charles H. Turner Post-Doctoral Fellow in Music Composition

UC College-Conservatory of Music Interim Dean Jonathan Kregor welcomes Felipe Tovar-Henao as the Charles Henry Turner Post-Doctoral Fellow at CCM, where he will continue his research and teach while preparing for a future faculty position. Tovar-Henao will be mentored by CCM Professor of Composition Michael Fiday during the 2-year appointment, which begins on Aug. 14, 2023.
