More than an award for UC engineering students

Ashley Paz y Puente is an assistant professor of materials engineering at the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science. Supported by the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER grant she was awarded in 2022, Paz y Puente is researching how to create stronger and lighter weight materials that could be applied to almost everything we use in our daily lives. She is seeking to better understand the Kirkendall effect in the process of diffusion.

One international DAAP grad, Saakshi Terway, turned these negatives into a positive pathway for others by starting a scholarship fund for international students who face similar financial barriers.

University of Cincinnati Esports highlights eventful first year

In August 2022, UC opened the esports lab in the 1819 Innovation Hub. Since then, the lab has become a hub of activity, providing a home base for the UC esports club and a tournament venue for statewide esports programs, benefiting gamers and STEM students.
