UC engineering professor honored for achievements in electronics, photonics

Andrew Steckl, professor of electrical engineering at the University of Cincinnati, was awarded the Electronics and Photonics Award from the Electrochemical Society (ECS). Steckl pioneered the field of rare-earth electroluminescent materials incorporated in semiconductors, creating bright beautiful colors used in digital flat screens. His research also includes biosensors for medical applications.
UC engineering undergraduates get summer research experience

Seven engineering faculty join UC

The University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science welcomed seven new faculty members starting in August 2023 at the start of the 2023-24 fall semester. There were an additional six faculty members that joined CEAS at the start of the 2022-23 spring semester in January 2023.
Mechanical engineering student builds skills in co-op

Avyay Putsherry, who will graduate with his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati in spring 2021, said his experience as a cooperative education (co-op) worker for two automotive companies has helped give him the confidence and technical skills to prepare him for his future. Putsherry was named Undergraduate Student Engineer of the Month by the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Biomedical engineering merges student’s interests

Rachel Rosteck will graduate this spring from the University of Cincinnati with her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and her master’s degree in mechanical engineering, which she earned through the ACCEND program. Rosteck was named Undergraduate Engineer of the Month by the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
