CCM shares fall 2022 schedule of performances and public events

The college’s fall 2022 schedule of free and ticketed events is now available. Tickets go on sale beginning on Monday, Aug. 22, through the CCM Box Office website.

VOTE: BroadwayWorld Awards highlight CCM excellence

Each year, the BroadwayWorld Awards honor excellence in the city’s performing arts scene. This year, the faculty and students of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) are nominated 20 times in 11 categories—including Best Musical, Best Opera, Best Choreography, Best Sound Design, and more!

CCM Opera’s spring 2022 production of "Galileo Galilei" nominated for BroadwayWorld awards

CCM Opera’s production of Philp Glass’s Galileo Galilei recently nabbed five nominations in BroadwayWorld Cincinnati’s annual awards for excellence in the region’s performing arts. The production, which ran from March 31 to April 3, 2022, has been recognized in the categories of Best Ensemble, Best Direction of a Musical (Greg Eldridge, Associate Professor of Opera Directing), Best Lighting Design of a Play or Musical (Ian Macintosh, BFA Lighting Design ‘22, and Thomas Hase, MFA Lighting Design) and Best Choreography (Hazel Alexander, BFA Dance ‘24). The awards are determined by audience vote, and the online poll is open through December 31.

CCM faculty featured in roundup of new classical music albums

CCM is home to an international faculty of dedicated educators who are also celebrated professionals in their own right, and two of those faculty members were recently highlighted in a New York Times roundup of notable new classical music albums. Entitled "5 Classical Music Albums You Can Listen to Right Now," the article includes recently released performance recordings featuring CCM Associate Professor of Voice Elliot Madore and CCM Assistant Professor of Cello Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir.

New summer program at CCM trains the voice, body and mind

The Stilson Institute at CCM trailblazes a new connection between historic voice pedagogy, modern sound-inspired modalities, science-based biomechanics and world-class faculty.

New York Times spotlights East Coast premiere of 'Blind Injustice'

The New York Times recently featured the East Coast premiere of "Blind Injustice," an opera based on true exonerations achieved by the Ohio Innocence Project. The production opened on Feb. 16 , 2024, at Peak Performances at Montclair State University. Premiered in 2019 at Cincinnati Opera, the opera was first workshopped through Opera Fusion: New Works (OF:NW), a collaboration between Cincinnati Opera and UC College-Conservatory of Music.
