Faculty and students at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music are collaborating on innovative multimedia projects in the CCM Idea Lab. The cross disciplinary class explores technical, artistic and philosophical questions to create short performance pieces that showcase the work of students and faculty from CCM Lighting Design and Technology, Sound Design and Technology, Technical Direction, Stage Management, Dance, Acting, Voice, Musical Theatre and Media Production.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's Orchestral and Choral programs unite to present J.S. Bach’s St. Mathew Passion at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 in Corbett Auditorium. Featuring the work of students, faculty and guest artists, the staged performance retells the story of the events leading up to the trial of Jesus, his crucifixion and burial.

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at CCM's acclaimed Voice and Opera programs courtesy of the new Backstage at CCM documentary series. Titled "A Voice Like Mine," this mini documentary spotlights bass-baritone John Mburu, who is pursuing his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance at CCM. Declared a "top college vocal program" by Backstage Magazine and described as “one of the continent’s major music schools” by the Toronto Star, CCM's Departments of Opera and Voice provide one of the most comprehensive training programs for opera singers, coaches and directors in the United States.

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Stanley E. Romanstein has announced the addition of Keyona Willis, DMA to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. An accomplished singer and voice instructor, Willis' appointment as Assistant Professor-Educator of Musical Theatre Voice begins on Aug. 15, 2021.

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Stanley E. Romanstein has announced the addition of accomplished baritone Elliot Madore to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. One of the most sought-after singers of his generation, Madore has performed throughout Europe, Canada and the US. His new appointment as Associate Professor of Voice at CCM begins on Aug. 15, 2021.

CCM Associate Professor of Voice Amy Johnson was named a Distinguished Vocal Artist of the American Prize as part of that competition's annual Independence Day Honors program. The award was presented to both Johnson and mezzo-soprano Adriana Zabala by the American Prize National Nonprofit Competitions in the Performing Arts in memory of the great Wagnerian baritone, Friedrich Schorr, and his wife, Virginia. An internationally-known soprano and vocal pedagogue, Johnson is recognized as one of America's finest singing actresses. She currently serves as co-director of CCM's Undergraduate Opera Workshop.

UC College-Conservatory of Music Assistant Professor of Voice Amy Johnson released her first solo album, "Portrait of an Artist," this summer. The album showcases Johnson’s wide range of vocal abilities, features works in six languages and four pieces that have never been featured on professionally-released albums.

Twenty-three current and incoming students competed for five coveted full-tuition scholarships and $50,000 in additional awards during CCM's 2021 Opera Scholarship Competition. Since its inauguration in 1976, this annual competition welcomes current and incoming CCM voice students to compete for scholarships and cash prizes. A panel of judges composed of opera industry professionals selects each year’s class of prizewinners.
